There is an old saying: “all politics are local.” I learned that lesson as Elk Grove’s founding Mayor and a fourteen-year Councilmember, and as a thirty-year law enforcement officer. My life has been spent serving our local communities.

Less than 4 years ago, you honored me with your first vote. Now it is time for me to respectfully ask for your support once again.

Representing an Assembly district in the Sacramento area means I never lose sight of how legislative decisions impact our local community. Every day, I hear what people think of traffic, education, crime, and jobs. And I see it all first-hand as I drive to work, attend community meetings regularly, and travel the district that includes Sacramento, Elk Grove, Galt, and Lodi.

I have a mobile office in every community; visited local businesses; held workshops on senior safety, growing small businesses, applying for college grants, and access to healthcare; and attended farmer’s markets, multi-cultural festivals, and community celebrations.

In the Assembly, I authored and supported legislation to reduce pollution and increase clean energy, provide pay equity for working women, expand family leave, and increase affordable housing. In the state budget, I fought to increase funding for education including after school programs, libraries, local transportation projects, and public safety.

I am proud to be endorsed by the California Democratic Party, law enforcement, state employees and elected officials in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Galt and Lodi. Thanks for your consideration. I would be honored to have your vote.
